Questions concerning your VIP status

  1. How can I get a VIP account?
    Follow the "Upgrade" link at the top of your profile page, and you will be redirected to the VIP subscription page. There you can find all the details.
  2. What is the difference between VIP account and regular account?
    The difference between the VIP and the regular account is outlined on the VIP subscription page. Follow the "Upgrade" link at the top of your profile page, and see the comparison details.
  3. How much does the VIP subscription cost?
    The VIP subscription for a month costs $26. Follow the "Upgrade" link at the top of your profile page to see the details about the VIP account compared to the regular account, and about different tariff plans.
  4. What if I have any payment issues?
    If you have any problems related to payments or financial transactions, you are always welcome to contact our Support team who are always ready to provide the assistance you need.

  5. Can I terminate my VIP subscription?
    VIP subscription can be terminated only after the subscription period expires.
  6. Can I view profiles of users found in Face-to-Face being a VIP?
    Yes, that's right. "Face-to-Face Picklock" is a paid service for regular users, but for VIP users it is included into subscription.
  7. How many Soulmates can I get monthly being a VIP?
    Soulmates are sent for free to the VIP account members. But keep in mind that only those people who are judged by the system as highly compatible with you, according to personal characteristics, are sent to you as your Soulmates. So their monthly number may vary.
  8. Do I have to buy "Rise Up to the Top" or is it included in the VIP service pack?
    One time "Rise Up to the Top" is included into the VIP subscription. In case a user wishes to use this service again, he/she needs to order this service additionally. Regular users can also order this service, as well as any other paid services available.
  9. Do I have to buy virtual gifts being a VIP?
    Users who have VIP accounts have 5 virtual gifts included into the subscription service pack. In case a VIP user wants to send more than 5 virtual gifts, he/she can order any number of additional virtual gifts on standard conditions.
  10. Is there any difference in Icebreakers for the VIP users?
    The difference between the standard and VIP Icebreakers is that VIP users can use an extended questions list.
  11. How do I change my Invisible mode settings?
    To change the Invisible Mode settings take the following steps:
    1. Go to the "Profile visitors" section of the "My Connections" menu at the top of the profile page.
    2. Click on the "Activate" button at the top of the page below the Invisible Mode description.
    3. Put the markers into checkboxes selecting the options you would like to set: "Conceal my online presence to other users", "Do not show me on the list of "Profile visitors" on other people's profiles", or both.
    4. Click "Save Changes", and your settings will be saved.
  12. How do I turn Invisible mode on/off?
    The Invisible Mode can be activated from your Visitors page. Go to your Profile Visitors page via My Connections menu, follow the Invisible Mode link and select the necessary option - you can choose either to hide your online presence from other users, or not to show you in the other people's Visitors section, or both. The Invisible Mode is active during your VIP subscription period.
  13. What is Invisible Mode?
    Invisible Mode is an option to hide your online presence and your visits to other users' profiles.
     
    The Invisible Mode is available for the VIP members only. Take the following steps to activate it:
    • Click on "My connections" menu at the top of the page, and select "Profile Visitors".
    • On your Visitors page, click on the "Invisible Mode" link and select the necessary option - you can choose either to hide your online presence from the other people, or not to show you among the "Profile Visitors" of the others, or both. Then click "Save changes". The Invisible Mode is active during the VIP-subscription period.

Yangutu Basics

Essential things you should know about Yangutu

  1. How do I register my profile?
    Fill in the registration form on the right side of Yangutu page:
    1. Your name
    2. The goal you are going to use our site for
    3. Your birth date (please note that it is important to fill in the correct information here, because your age will be counted on site based on it)
    4. Your gender (and that of your potential partner)
    5. Your location
    6. Your e-mail address
    7. Your password
    Then click on the "Register" button, and you will be sent a confirmation e-mail. Find this message in your mailbox, follow the confirmation link, and that's it.
     
    Apart from that, you can use your Facebook account to make your registration even easier. Take the following steps:
    1. Click on the "Connect with Facebook" button in the left upper corner of the page.
    2. Log in to Facebook.
    3. Click "Allow" to give the system access to your data.
    Your profile will be created automatically, and your personal information will be imported from your Facebook account to your Yangutu account.
  2. How do I log in to Yangutu via my Facebook account?
    If your Yangutu profile has been integrated with Facebook, you have logged in to Facebook, and want to quickly log in to Yangutu take the following steps:
    1. Click on the "Sing In" link at the top of the page
    2. Click on the "Facebook" button on the right.
    That's it. You are logged in to Yangutu.
  3. Why should I complete my profile?
    It is necessary to complete your profile with information about yourself for at least 50%. The people browsing Yangutu in search for their potential partners are interested to know some information about you. There should be an oppotrunity for everyone to know something about a person prior to contacting him/her. You will not be able to view the other users' profiles in case your profile is incomplete.
  4. How can I change my password?
    To change your password take the following steps:
    1. Go to the "Account" menu in the right top corner of the profile page
    2. Select "Change password" option
    3. Fill in your current password, new password, confirm your new password and click "Save"
    In case you have connected your Yangutu account with your Facebook account, you cannot change your password. If you need to change your Facebook account password, please go to your Facebook profile settings.
  5. How do I change my e-mail?
    To change your e-mail take the following steps:
    1. Go to the "Account" pop-up menu in the right top corner of the profile page
    2. Select the "Change e-mail" option.
    In case you have connected your Yangutu account with your Facebook account, you cannot change your e-mail. If you need to change your Facebook account registration e-mail, please go to your Facebook profile settings.
  6. How can I import the data from my Facebook profile to my Yangutu profile?
    In case you want to import your personal data from Facebook to your Yangutu profile while registering, take the following steps:
    1. Click on the "Connect with Facebook" button in the right upper corner of the page.
    2. Log in to Facebook.
    3. Click "Allow" to give the system access to your data.
    Your profile will be created automatically, and your personal information will be imported from your Facebook account to your Yangutu account.
  7. I'm not interested in dating, but I'd like to read Yangutu blog, take part in discussions, watch videos, and play games. Can I use Yangutu?
    At the present moment Yangutu is a dating site to a great extent, the majority of Yanguters are in search for a partner, but on the other hand, we tend to shift towards a social network. This means it is not a necessary condition for you to be a single person in search for a partner to use Yangutu.
    We have an extended profile for users, so you can specify there your marital status: married, and why you are on Yangutu: to make friends, virtual communication, etc. So you can just register, accurately complete your profile and enjoy watching and commenting on videos, reading our blog, using our Daily Talks section, etc. If you don't want notifications about the singles on Yangutu, you can always easily switch them off via Accounts Menu - e-mail notifications.
  8. What are advantages of connecting my Facebook profile to my Yangutu profile?
    First of all, you can import some of your personal information to Yangutu from Facebook, so you will not have to fill it in manually. Your login procedure becomes easier and quicker with "Connect with Facebook".
  9. What kinds of e-mail notifications do I get from Yangutu?
    You get the notifications from Yangutu that inform you if somebody noticed you, wrote you a message, visited your profile, or is interested in getting to know you better. This may be especially useful if you don't visit our site every day. You will always be notified on new Singles or Soulmates selected for you, on somebody's visit to your page. 
     
    Here are some examples of notifications:
    • "Somebody wants you to add more information to your profile" 
    • "Somebody winked at you"
    • "You've got a message"
    • Etc.
    The complete list of notifications is in the "Email Notifications" section of the "Account" pop-up menu. You can always unsubscribe from the notifications using the unsubscription link at the bottom of the message body, or by unselecting the notifications in "Email Notifications" section of your "Account" menu.
  10. How can I limit the amount of e-mail notifications I get?
    You can choose which notifications you want, or don't want to receive in your profile settings. Take the following steps:
    1. Go to the "Account" menu at the top of the page, and select "Email Notifications"
    2. Unselect those types of notifications you don't want to receive, and select those you want. You can also choose the frequency of notifications here.
    3. Click "Save"
    Now you will get only those notifications you have selected.
  11. How do I delete my account?
    To delete your account take the following steps:
    1. Click on the "Account" menu in the right upper corner of your profile page, and select any of the options.
    2. Find "Delete my account" option in the left upper corner of the opened page
    3. Before you delete the account, you are offered the options to configure it:
    • "Nobody will find you in the Google search engine" and
    • "You will not receive any e-mail notifications"
    Then you are offered to "Stay on site" or "Delete account".
     
    Click on the "Delete account". Your account will be deleted, and your e-mail address will be added to Yangutu e-mail suppression list. You will no longer receive any messages or notifications from Yangutu.
  12. Why is the number of daily contacts limited?
    This measure was taken against spam on Yangutu. By limiting the number of new daily contacts we hope to improve the experience of using our site for the Yangutu community.
  13. How can I see the new users who have just joined Yangutu?
    The new users who have just joined Yangutu are usually displayed at the top of your New Singles list (search results).
  14. Are there any rules for Yangutu users?
    It is a necessary condition for all Yangutu users to be familiar with our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. Violations of our Terms of Use may cause your profile to be blocked or deleted from Yangutu.
  15. I've never recieved Yangutu confirmation e-mail after registration. What should I do?
    In case you haven't received Yangutu confirmation email needed to finalize your registration, please check your Spam folder. Due to a large number of notifications we send to our users, Yangutu emails may be recognized as Spam by your webmail service.
     
    This problem can be solved by adding Yangutu sending address to your Address Book. To view the detailed instructions on this procedure follow the links:
    In case you can find the activation e-mail neither in Inbox, nor in Spam folders, you can use the "Resend confirmation e-mail" link. The message will be resent to you.
     
    In case you left the registration page, try to log in to Yangutu. In the right top corner of the page you will see the notification with a link: "Your email is not verified. Please confirm it". Click on this link, and then use the "Resend confirmation e-mail" link. In case you cannot solve this problem yourself, please do not hesitate to contact Yangutu Support via support@yangutu.com, or via "Contact Us" application form for any kind of assistance.

    "Cash friends" is a Yangutu service of making money by inviting your friends to Yangutu website. As the friend you invite registers on Yangutu you get some additional Yangutu coins which will give you much more opportunities to have fun at Yangutu. Photos

Uploading your photos and Yangutu requirements

  1. How can i delete a photo i don't like from my page?
    Take the following steps to delete the photo from your profile:
     
    1) Click on the photo you've selected. The photo is opened in the photo viewer.
    2) Find the "Edit this photo" pop-up  menu in the right upper corner of the photo viewer. Click on it.
    3) In the opened pop-up find the "Delete" link and click on it.
     
    That's it. Your selected photo will be deleted.
  2. Why wasn’t my photo accepted?
    There are certain requirements you need to know before uploading photos to Yangutu.com. If the photo you uploaded doesn’t meet these criteria, it won’t be accepted or will be removed by our photo moderators.
  3. Why are photos necessary on my profile?
    Photos are needed because anyone wants to know what his communication partner looks like. That is why having your recent photo is a necessary condition for normal use of our site. Apart from that, no one will see your profile without a photo, it is not displayed in the Singles list (search results).
  4. How can I change my main photo?
    In case you would like to change your main profile photo take the following steps:
    1. Go to the photo viewer by clicking on one of your photos.
    2. Click on the photo you want to make Main.
    3. Click on the "Edit this photo" drop-down menu in the right upper corner of the photo viewer.
    4. Select the "Make Main" option.

    In case you haven't uploaded this photo to your profile yet, do the following:
    1. Click on the "+ Upload photos" link below your main photo on your profile page.
    2. You can choose the most suitable way to upload your photo from the 4 ways available: from your drive, from webcam, from Facebook, from Instagram.
    3. Choose the photo, and upload it.
    4. Go to the above described "Edit this photo" menu, and make it main.
  5. Can I report low quality photos, and those violating moral standards?
    In case you see poor quality photos you can report them. Use the "Report This Photo" link under the photo in the photo viewer. Choose the report reason from the list, and click on "Send". The site administration will receive your report, and take all the measures necessary.
  6. What photos can be uploaded to Yangutu, and how many?
    Go to Yangutu Photo Requirements page for a detailed instruction on size, quality, and content of the photos uploaded to Yangutu. Their number is not limited.
  7. How can I rate photos?
    The option to rate user's photos is available in the photo viewer. To rate a photo take the following steps:
    1. Go to the profile of the user whose photo you like.
    2. Open the photo viewer by clicking on the photo.
    3. Select the photo you want to rate by clicking on it.
    4. Find the "Rate this picture" scale above this photo.
    You can rate a photo with 1-7 stars by clicking on the scale.
  8. How can I comment on photos?
    The option to comment on a user's photos is available in the photo viewer. To leave a comment take the following steps:
    1. Go to the profile of the user whose photo you like.
    2. Open the photo viewer by clicking on the photo.
    3. Select the photo you want to comment by clicking on it.
    4. Type your comment into "Your Comment" input box below the photo.
    5. Click on the "Post Comment" button.
  9. If I have no photo, will my profile be seen by others, and displayed in the Singles list?
    No. Profiles without photos are not displayed in the Singles list (search results), and are unseen by the others. People want to see you while searching for a partner. That's why uploading a photo is an essential step to get into Yangutu search results, and be seen by the others.

Singles

Searching for dates and friends on Yangutu

  1. How can I attract attention to my profile in search results?
    There is a bunch of options on Yangutu to attract other people's attention to your profile:
    1. Add your photo to the "Wall of Fame" feed, and it will be seen on top of the page to tons of people.
    2. Use the "Rise Up to the Top" service, and get your profile to the upper position in the search results.
    3. Use "Face-to-Face Up", be seen by more people in the "Face-to-Face" game.
    4. Upload your photo to "TOP-100 Rating", vote for other people, and use "TOP-100 Visibility Boost" to be seen by more people in "TOP-100".
    Be active, be positive, don't be affraid to communicate, and you won't come unnoticed.
  2. Why do I see Singles too distant from me in search?
    This is due to the search parameters you have specified. Use the city name link to specify the location you want to search in. And the singles (search results) you get will be from your selected location. You can also use a slider to extend the search area.
  3. How can I save time searching for people?
    There are some ways to make your search more effective:
    1. Use extended search parameters (Click "Find people", and then click the "Change" link at the top of the page next to your current parameters, and you'll be able to access the extended search parameters).
    2. You may also use our paid services "Wall of Fame", or "Rise Up to the Top" to promote your profile. Your potential partner may find you sooner than you will do it yourself.
    3. Also don't fail to check out our "Face-to-Face" game. The system displays single photos of users meeting your search parameters for you. You just have to make a one click answer to the question: "Want to meet her/him?". And this user will be notified about your answer.
  4. What search parameters can I use on Yangutu to find an appropriate person?
    The search parameters used on Yangutu are: sex, age, location and purpose. Advanced search also includes: body type, education, ethnicity, income, living situation, kids preferences, relationship status, occupation, religion, eye/hair color, height, weight, attitude to smoking.
  5. I found some users I liked. What can I do not to lose them?
    The easiest way not to lose people you've found and liked is to add them to your Favorites. You will always have access to their profiles, you will get notifications on the profile updates and new photo uploads these users make. Apart from that, the users you've added to Favorites are notified about it. Open the profile of the person you like, and use the "Add to Favorites" button at the top of the page, on the right from the photo.
  6. Can I search for singles within a country, or a town?
    You can search within a city or town by using the "Select from the list" link in the search menu at the top of the page. You can also use the slider below the location selected to broaden your search area.
  7. How can I hide users I don't like from search results?
    Use the "Hide" link to remove the users you dislike from the search results. The "Hide" link can be found at the top of the user profile page, inside "or" dropdown menu near the "Add to Favorites" button.
  8. Based on what criteria are the search results sorted out while being displayed?
    Your search results are sorted according to the time of profile registration. The newer the profile is, the higher it is in the search results for singles. The users of the "Rise Up to the Top" service are also displayed at the top of the search results.

Communication with Other Members

Means of communication and contacting people on Yangutu

  1. Are notifications sent to a member each time I view his/her profile?
    No. This might be found annoying by the majority of people. Notifications are sent just once on the first time you check out a person's profile. Your multiple viewing of a person's profile won't cause a bunch of notifications in her/his mailbox. So, view her/his profile as many times as you wish without being annoying.
  2. How can I save profiles of the users I like, so that I can easily contact them in the future?
    You can add such users to Favorites. Take the following steps:
    1. Open the profile page of the user you like.
    2. Click on the "Add to Favorites" button on the right from the user's photo at the top of the page.
    3. The "favorites" link is renamed to "Remove from Favorites", in case you need to remove this user from Favorites.
    Now the user is one of your Favorites. You will get Signals as he/she uploads new photos, or makes some profile changes.
  3. Can I receive the Signals on my smartphone/iPhone/iPad?
    Yes, you can. We have launched the mobile version.
  4. Are any other languages supported by Yangutu?
    Yangutu is mainly English speaking community at the moment, but in the future some other languages may be added.
  5. Who are Visitors?
    We show you the users, who visited your profile. If a user visited your profile page we add him/her to your Visitors. You can easily find out, who is interested in you. It might be the first step in a relationship. Some users use the Invisible Mode. You will see that your profile was viewed by a Mysterious Stranger, but you won’t be able to find out who it was.
  6. Why can't I send my e-mail address to another user on Yangutu?
    This practice is banned on Yangutu because it is a typical scammer/spammer behavior: sending you their e-mail address, or asking for yours, to use for their fraudulent affairs. This is described in detail on our scam warning page.
  7. What Signals do I get and why? What are they used for?
    The Signals are used to notify that somebody has noticed you, and may be interested in starting communication. Here are some examples of Signals you may receive from other users on Yangutu: a user sent his/her Icebreakers to you, answered your Icebreakers, wants to meet you, has winked at you, you've got new Soulmate, etc.
  8. How can I make a compliment to a user?
    The best way to demonstrate your emotions towards the person you like, and to make him/her a compliment is to send him/her a virtual gift.
  9. Can I invite my friends to Yangutu? What should I do?
    In case you want to invite some of your friends to Yangutu, take the following steps:
    1. Click on the "Invite your friends" option in the "Connections" menu on the right side of your profile page.
    2. Select the service you want to use to send invitations to your friends: Facebook, Gmail, Yahoo!mail, Twitter, Orkut, and other servcies.
    3. Click on the "Find Friends" button and select your friends you want to invite.
    4. Click on the "Send request" button (the button name may be different for different services).Your friends will receive e-mails with notifications that you have invited them to Yangutu.
  10. How can I prevent the person I don't like from contacting me?
    In case you don't like a person for some reason, and you don't want any type of communication with him/her, as well as to see him/her in the Singles or Soulmates, you can block or hide this person. Use "Block" link in chat not to receive messages from this user, and use "Hide" option inside "Or" drop-down menu on the right from the user's photo not to see him in search results and Soulmates.
  11. What is an Icebreaker? Why should I use it, and how can I do it?
    Icebreakers are a series of questions designed “to break the ice” of the first communication. You are asked to choose questions from the list of pre-defined, basic questions, which may help potential matches get to know each other and start a conversation.
  12. What do "winks" mean?
    "Winks" notify that a user probably likes you, and wants to draw your attention to his/her personality. That's an easy way to start communication.

  1. Can I start Soulmate Finder Test, then save the results and continue later?
    Yes, you can. Use the "Save, and continue later" button at the bottom of the Soulmate Finder Test page, and the next time you open the test, it will open at the page of your last questionnaire answer. All your previous answers are saved.
  2. What is Soulmate Finder?
    Yangutu Soulmate Finder implements the best achievements of modern psychology. We have carefully studied approaches to personality and individual differences, such as Hans Eysenck and G.D. Wilson's psychology, Timothy Leary's interpersonal relationships, Milton Rokeach's value orientation, W. Toman's family systems therapy, and the analysis of family relations by Ronald W.   6. What is the difference between Singles and Soulmates?
    Singles are the users, that you choose according to your search criteria. Basic search criteria include gender, age, and living area of your potential match.

What is Face-to-Face? The facts you should know about it

  1. Why doesn't anyone answer "Yes" about me in the Face-to-Face game?
    The problem may be that your photo is low quality. In this case, if the photo is blurred, or improperly cropped, or even displays some cartoon characters, or celebrities, the users don't answer "Yes" just because they cannot see you clearly, or they can see it is not you. Please make sure you have a recent, high quality photo of yours, clearly showing your smiling face, and the "Yes" answers will definitely follow.
  2. Whose photos take part in the Face-to-Face game?
    The photos of all registered Yangutu users take part in the Face-to-Face game. They are shown to users in accordance with their search settings. Add a photo to your profile, and join the game!
  3. What are mutual attractions in the Face-to-Face game?
    Mutual attractions are 2 users who answer "Yes" or "Maybe" about each other in the Face-to-Face game, meaning they like each other, and would like to meet. 
  4. Why can't I view profiles of the users I see in the Face-to-Face game?
    In fact, you can. But this is a paid service. Find "Face-to-Face Picklock" service in the list of paid services on your Coins page. After you buy it, you can view profiles of the users you find in the "Face-to-Face" game for 30 days.
  5. What is Face-to-Face game?
    Face-to-Face game is a great option for online speeddating. You are shown pictures of users, carefully selected in accordance with your search settings. If you want to meet him/her, you click “yes” or “maybe”. Yangutu will notify this user about your interest.
     
    If somebody wants to meet you, you will be immediately notified about that in the “Want to meet me" section of our menu in the right upper corner of Yangutu page. If there’s mutual interest between you and another user, Yangutu will notify you in the Mutual attractions section. Don’t miss your chance to start a new interesting relationship.
  6. How can I see who answered "Yes" or "Maybe" about my photo in Face-to-Face game?
    Click on the "Want to meet me" link in the menu in the right upper corner of the Yangutu page. Then all the users who asnwered "Yes" or 'Maybe" about you will be displayed. This is a paid service.

TOP-100 Rating

Have fun and attract attention

  1. Where is the rating of my TOP-100 photo published?
    Your rating is published in "My score" menu. You may also publish it on your Facebook wall, and your friends will be able to see it.
  2. How long will my photo be displayed in TOP-100 rating?
    The period of your photo participation in the "TOP-100 Rating" is unlimited. Still uploading more photos will increase your chances in the rating.
  3. Can I see the people who voted for me in TOP-100 rating?
    Open "My Score" menu. The people who voted for you are listed below your current rating.
  4. How can I vote in TOP-100?
    Click on the photo you like in "TOP-100", and that's it. You have voted.
  5. How can I see TOP-100 leaders of my and the opposite sex? Can I vote for users of my sex?
    Yes, that's possible. Click on the "Edit search" link at the top of the "TOP-100 Rating" page, and change from "Woman" to "Man", or vice versa. That's it.
  6. How can I become a TOP-100 leader?
    The more active you are in the TOP-100 rating, the more you vote and promote your photo, the more chances you have. Try it, and get yourself to the TOP!
  7. Can I contact TOP-100 participants/leaders?

  8. How many of my photos can I add to be rated in TOP-100? Does this affect my rating?
    You may add as many photos as you wish. The more photos take part in the rating, the better chances you have.
  9. My TOP-100 rating remains unchanged, or even decreases. What should I do?
    Take active part in voting, you'll get more votes as you get noticed. Use "TOP-100 Visibility Boost". Your photo will be displayed more often, and more people will see you, and vote for you. Apart from that, you may invite your friends to vote for you. Play, vote, and have fun!
  10. Can I invite my friends to vote for me in TOP-100 rating?
    Yes, you can. Take the following steps:
    1. Go to the "TOP-100" page
    2. Go to "My Score" menu
    3. Click on the "Ask for Help" link on the right from your current rating statistics
    4. Select the service you want to use to send invitations to your friends: Facebook, Gmail, Yahoo!mail, Twitter, Orkut, or some other services
    5. Click on the "Find Friends" button and select your friends you want to invite
    6. Click on the "Send request" button (the button name may be different for different services)
    Your friends will receive e-mails with notifications that you have invited them to Yangutu. As they accept your invitation and join Yangutu, they will be able to vote for you, and help you promote your photo.
     
    You can also post your rating on your Facebook wall for your friends to see it. Use the "Post" link in the "My Score" menu.
  11. How can I take part in TOP-100 rating?
    Open the TOP-100 rating page. The system will ask you to upload your photo, because it is a necessary condition to take part in voting. You can upload more than 1 photo to take part in the rating. This will increase your chances. You can upload more photos from your profile using "Manage Photos" button from the "My Score" menu.
  12. How can I check my current TOP-100 rating?
    Go to "My Score" tab to check your current rating. There you can see your current position in the rating in your city, region, country, and finally the world. Apart from that you can see the people who voted for you in the rating, and view their profiles. You can also use "Manage Photo" button to change or upload more photos to increase your chances, use "TOP-100 Visibility Boost", invite your friends to vote for you, and increase your rating, or post your TOP-100 rating on your Facebook wall.

    TOP-100 leaders are the people whose photos get the biggest number of votes.

What you can do to attract attention

  1. No one comes to my profile. What can I do to attract attention?
    There is a bunch of options on Yangutu to attract other people's attention to your profile:
    1. Add your photo to the "Put Me Here" (the Wall of Fame) feed, and it will be seen on top of the page to tons of people.
    2. Use "Rise Up to the Top" service, and get your profile to the upper position in the search results.
    3. Use "Face-to-Face Visibility Boost", and your photo will be shown to more people in the "Face-to-Face" game.
    4. Upload your photo to the "TOP-100" rating, vote for the other people, and use "TOP-100 Visibility Boost" to be seen by more people in "TOP-100".
    Be active, be positive, don't be afraid to communicate, and you won't come unnoticed.
  2. My profile gradually gets down in Singles list. Can I raise it to the top of the list again, so that more people can see it?
    You can get your profile to the top of the Singles list (search results) seen by other users by using the "Rise Up to the Top" service. This service rises your profile to the first position in the search results. Then, as more new users register, your profile starts gradually descending from the upper position. You can see your current position in the Singles list right under your photo on the left side of your profile page.
  3. I want to be seen by more people in TOP-100 rating. Is it possible?
    Use our "TOP-100 visibility boost" service. You can increase your visibility from 2 to 8 times.
  4. I want my profile to stand out from the Singles list, what can i do?
    An effective solution in this situation will be to add your photo to the "Wall of Fame" feed. Your photo will be displayed at the top of the dashboard page.
     
    To get your photo into the feed simply click on the link "Put me here", choose the photo you want to appear in the feed, and add an optional message to it. The "Wall of Fame" is a paid service. It costs 100 coins.
    When in the feed, your photo and message are displayed to all the users in your area. Keep in mind that as more people enter the feed your photo will be slowly moving to the right untill it is completely pushed off. To get back into the feed again all you need to do is simply top up this service.

    You can also use our "Rise Up to the Top" service to get your profile to the top of the Singles list (search results). You will get noticed easier being at the top of the list.

    "Wall of Fame" is a service you can use to attract attention to your profile. Upload your photo to the feed at the top of the page, where it can be seen by thousands of people.
     
    To upload your photo to the "Wall of Fame" feed take the following steps:
    1. Click on the "Put me here" button on the left from the feed.
    2. Select the photo you want to be displayed, type your greeting message (no more than 50 characters), and click on "Continue".
    3. Click on "Buy now".
    After that your photo will be displayed in the feed. As other users add their photos to the feed your photo will be gradually moved to the right, and then disappear, unless you use the service once again.

Spammers, scammers, and how to handle them

  1. You have received spam in messages or photo comments? An insulting message? Some user is acting suspiciously, acts like a scammer? What can be done in this case?
    You can use the "Report this person" link to report abuse.
     
    It can be found:
    • On this user's profile page below his/her photo
    • "Report Spam" link at the bottom of the Messages window.
    Choose the reason for report, and click on the "Send" button. The site administration will receive your report, and take all the measures necessary. You can also use the "Block this person" checkbox inside the report form, in case you don't want to hear from this user again.
  2. Are there any badwords filters on Yangutu?
    Yes, there is a badwords filter used on Yangutu. So, in case a harsh expression is identified inside a message body, the message will be blocked from sending, and a warning pop-up will be displayed.
  3. How can I judge if a user is a scammer?
    There are some typical traits of behavior you can identify a scammer by. Please check out our scam warning page for details.
  4. I see a poor quality photo, a photo violating moral norms, a photo of kids alone, or a photo violating some other Yangutu requirements. How can I report this photo?
    In case you see poor quality photos, or photos violating Yangutu standards, you can report them. Use the "Report This Photo" link you may see beside any photo on site. Choose the report reason from the list, and click "Send". The site administration will receive your report, and take all the measures necessary.

  1. I've never heard about Yangutu. Why did my profile appear here?
    Your profile might have been created due to your usage of our Facebook application. Usually it happens like this:
     
    Some Facebook user sends you an invitation to use our app (vote for a photo, etc.). After you click "Allow" and give the rights to our application to access your data according to its Terms of Use your profile is automatically created on Yangutu.
     
    In case you don't want your account on our site you can easily delete it. Select any option in the "Account" menu in the right upper corner of the profile page. Then use the "Delete my account" button on the left.   2. I am annoyed with Yangutu notifications. How do I unsubscribe?
    You can always unsubscribe from the notifications using the unsubscription link at the bottom of the message body, or by unselecting the notifications in "Email Notifications" section of your "Account" menu.     To remove Yangutu application from your Facebook profile take the following steps:

    2. Click on the "Edit your settings" link under the "Apps and Websites" section in the left bottom corner of the opened page.
    3. Find the application you would like to remove in the "Apps you use" list, and click on it. If you don’t see the application listed, you can find it by clicking the "Edit settings" button.
    4. The page with general information on this application opens. In the right upper corner there is the "Remove App" link. Click on this link. Once you confirm you’d like to remove the application, it will no longer have access to your data and be removed from your profile, bookmarks, and your applications and games dashboards.
  6. I tried to send a chat message, but it says "Your message contains offensive language", and the message cannot be sent. What should I do?
    There is a badwords filter used on Yangutu. So, in case a harsh expression is automatically identified inside a message body, the message will be blocked from sending, and a warning pop-up will be displayed. Please make sure there are no rude, or abusive expressions. In case you are sure there's no offensive language, but your message still can't be sent, please contact Yangutu support for this matter via support@yangutu.com, or via standard "Contact Us" application form on the site, and describe the details of your problem to us.   7. Why can't I access my chat messages and signals?
    Microsoft Internet Explorer users sometimes face this problem. In the majority of cases the problem is that active scripts are not enabled.

    Please take the following steps that will hopefully solve the problem with chat:
    1. Click on "Tools" at the top right of explorer
    2. Then click on "Internet Options"
    3. Go to "Security" tab, make sure Internet is selected
    4. Then click on "Custom level"
    5. Scroll to the bottom end, and find "Active scripting"
    6. Make sure it is enabled
    7. Click on the "OK" button

    3. In case you cannot find the necessary information in FAQ, find "File a ticket for a personal response from our support team" option. Fill in all the required information: select a category, input your question, your name and e-mail address.
    4. Click on "Submit request". Thats it. After that you will get an e-mail notification on your request being processed to the Support Center, and in a short period of time a Support Officer will contact you to provide the assistance you need.
  9. Why don't I receive Yangutu notifications? How can I solve this problem?
    In case you don't find Yangutu notifications in your Inbox, please check your Spam folder. Due to the nature of our mailing some of the mail services identify our notifications as spam.

    All your coins-related transactions history is saved, and can be seen on "My Coins" page.
