Read more…I've known this guy for a couple of years, and we really love each other. He is one state away, and I think a long distance relationship could work between us. I just don't know how to ask or if LDR's are just an epic fail. I'm just nervous about temptations or having a really strained relationship. Asking for personal opinions.
Yes it can work, but focus above all else on being very good friends. The key will be communication when you are separated by distance. Call, text, or email him every day. When you are both online at the same time Skype him so you can see each other, and when he's not online send him a mailVU video message. The more you communicate the more you will be in his mind. When you can get together in person it will be like you never left. Best of luck to you both!
My girlfriend and I have been long distance for almost a year now and it does suck, but by talking on the phone, texting, and Skyping, it's not so bad! Also, if you have a car, each of you make the trip to each other's homes (or wherever you are staying) once a month at least. The time flies. You guys can do it!
I think it could easily work out. I live in Mississippi and my girlfriend lives in North Carolina. Heck, we met on an online game! We've only been physically around each other three days in our 5 months of loving each other. We're still together and going strong, even though I haven't seen her since September.
